Orphaned Land

Orphaned Land é uma banda israelense de Folk metal com fortes infuências da música tradicional do Oriente Médio.
A banda foi formada em 1991, sob o nome de Resurrection. Em 1992, depois de algum tempo passado á procura de um som próprio, a banda focou-se na cultura do médio oriente. Adotaram o nome de Orphaned Land e o seu estilo foi-se aproximando do "oriental metal" (algo como um folk metal árabe). A sua música combina vários estilos musicais e filosofias.

Silent Stream of Godless Elegy is a Moravian folk metal band from the Czech Republic that was formed in 1995. They won an award in 2000 from the Czech Academy of Popular Music for their album Themes in the "Hard & Heavy" category.
Their songs,full of sentimentalist and melancholy,talks about Folklore and Feelings in general.They are highly influenced by their Bohemian folklore.
Their last album,Relic Dances,is considered the 8°th best metal album by the website BNR Metal.

Essa provavelmente é a descrição mais difícil que já fiz sobre uma banda. Sem brincadeira, levei 2 dias para tentar dar a vocês uma idéia básica do que é Empyrium. Lógico que é apenas uma leve descrição da banda.É impossível querer descreve-los em sua totalidade,uma vez que cada álbum,cada música nos leva a reflexões e conclusões diferentes.Mas tentei da melhor forma possível reunir idéias e pensamentos para dar a vocês uma descrição.

Imagine-se em uma floresta mergulhada em penumbra. Um vento leve a atravessa como uma lâmina, derrubando as folhas das árvores. É uma noite de outono e a lua cheia se abre por entre galhos retorcidos de árvores anciãs deixando sua luz desenhar sombras macabras e mostrar toda a beleza de um lago congelado logo a frente.Ao mesmo tempo seres macabros andam pela floresta,mas compartilham da mesma melancolia e tristeza.Compartilham o mesmo amor pela Natureza,pelo drama,pelo romance.

Some a isso um instrumental impecável formado por cellos, violas, violões, flautas, teclados, címbalos e a poderosa voz do barítono Markus, vocal leader da banda e fundador da mesma. Sua voz às vezes extravasa e ultrapassa os demais instrumentos, mas é apenas a força de sua própria genialidade (é responsável pela criação de mais da metade das canções da banda) e sentimento. As músicas são poderosas e não pense que estamos em pleno teatro, um concerto de voz e instrumentos; Empyrium segue além destes estereótipos e cria com originalidade.

Essa é a atmosfera que a banda transmite. Uma relação de puro amor com a natureza,mas sem deixar de lado os lados mais sombrios da natureza humana como a angústia da nossa existência da qual não se pode escapar.Uma mistura única do puro doom metal com a simplicidade do folk metal.Uma mistura de músicas melancólicas e tristonhas com agressividade e desespero que só eles conseguiram realizar.

Cada álbum vale a pena ser ouvido, apreciado e admirado, mas sua obra prima mor, Songs of Moors & Misty Fields, é a minha recomendação pessoal para começo. Destaque para The Blue Mists Of Night e Mourners.

Black Sabbath

Black Sabbath are an English rock band, formed in Birmingham in 1968 by Ozzy Osbourne (lead vocals), Tony Iommi (guitar), Geezer Butler (bass), and Bill Ward (drums and percussion). The band has since experienced multiple lineup changes, with a total of twenty-two former members. Originally formed as a heavy blues-rock band named Earth, the band began incorporating occult- and horror-inspired lyrics with tuned-down guitars, changing their name to Black Sabbath and achieving multiple gold and platinum records in the 1970s. As one of the first and most influential heavy metal bands of all time, Black Sabbath helped define the genre with releases such as 1970s quadruple-platinum Paranoid. They were ranked by MTV as the "Greatest Metal Band" of all time, and have sold over fifteen million records in the United States alone.

Theatre of Tragedy is a Norwegian band from Stavanger, originally assembled in 1992 and best known for their earlier albums, which provided a great deal of influence to the gothic metal genre. The band made use of contrasting vocals - male bass vocals (making some use of death grunts) and female soprano singing (commonly referred to as "Beauty and the Beast" vocals) - and on their first three albums, presented lyrics written predominantly in Early Modern English. Starting from the album Musique, however, Theatre of Tragedy made drastic changes to its style, which became significantly inspired by the industrial rock genre, abandoning Early Modern English writing and death grunts in the process.
